MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY AND COMMUNICATIONS OF TURKMENISTAN
In an era of power and happiness under the leadership of the Honorable President, Turkmenistan earns tremendous success in economics, politics, culture and other vital areas. For the development of the country to successfully implement the instructions and promotes the policy of the National Leader, each sector is obliged including the transport sector of Turkmenistan.
Due to the favorable location of Turkmenistan, it has long been known that Turkmenistan occupies the first places in the transportation of goods through the territory and in international trade. Clear evidence is that the Ancient “Silk Road” passed through several cities of Turkmenistan.
The Turkmenbashi International Sea Port is a transport corridor between Europe and Asia. It is known as the “Sea Gate” to Central Asia. In connection with the development of the international transport corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) in recent years, the possibility of our country’s marine transportation has increased even more. Shipping is the most reliable, economical and convenient. Therefore, in the world of maritime transport pays great attention. For example, in the US, shipping accounts for 90% of foreign trade, the United Kingdom and Japan account for 98% of foreign trade. In the world a greater number of freight traffic is carried by sea transport.
Due to the rapid growth of sea freight traffic and port cargo turnover and competition in the neighboring Caspian countries, a reasonable measure is being held in Turkmenistan and projects are being created for the further growth of sea transport. These projects are a huge economic potential for Turkmenistan. The creation of regional and interregional transport routes through Central Asia is very important.
Ministry of Industry and Communications of Turkmenistan, “Turkmendenizderyayollary” agency is the executive body for the implementation of the state policy of maritime transport on the border of Turkmenistan.
The agency is guided by the Constitution of Turkmenistan, the laws of Turkmenistan, the merchant shipping code of Turkmenistan, acts of the President of Turkmenistan, decisions of the Cabinet Ministers of Turkmenistan, signed conventions and agreements with international organizations, international legislation on safe shipping and navigation, orders and instructions of the Ministry of Industry and Communications of Turkmenistan as well as their positions.
At the present time, by the decree of the President of Turkmenistan on the appointment of the head of the Turkmendenizderyayollary agency of the Ministry of Industry and Communication of Turkmenistan, in accordance with the 1st decree of the general shareholders meeting on January 30, 2019, the head Agamurad Bayramgeldiyevich Hayytmuradov.
