On July 28, 2025, the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Baku.At the meeting, the delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev, and the delegation of the Republic of Azerbaijan was headed by Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov.During the meeting, the parties noted the wide range of cooperation between the two countries, including such important areas as trade and economic, energy, transport and cultural and humanitarian spheres. It was also noted that there are great opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector.Positive dynamics in transit traffic between the two countries was noted.The parties discussed the need to expand the activities of private sector representatives from both countries, including their participation in trade events, exhibitions and forums held in Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.In addition, the parties emphasized the possibilities for further expansion and strengthening of cooperation in the energy and oil and gas sectors, chemistry, transport and communications, agriculture and food industry, environmental protection, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian areas.Following the meeting, the Protocol of the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani Commission on Economic Cooperation was signed, which provides for the expansion of cooperation in trade-economic, energy, transport agricultural and other areas.The parties agreed to hold the next 9th meeting of the Commission in the city of Ashgabat.
