On August 6, a thematic session titled "The Connecting Path: Digital Potential Beyond Borders" was held in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone as part of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).
The event brought together the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Mr. Mammetkhan Chakiyev, the Minister of Communications, Mr. Hajymurat Hudayguliyev, along with representatives of international organizations, financial institutions, and the telecommunications sector.
Participants discussed improving access to and the quality of services in remote areas through digital infrastructure, the implementation of digital projects in rural regions, and efforts to bridge gender and regional digital divides.
A dedicated part of the session focused on cross-border digital trade and the need to harmonize legal and regulatory frameworks. Speakers emphasized the importance of multilateral digital cooperation in today’s interconnected world.
The session also featured presentations of the Partner2Connect initiative and the International Telecommunication Union’s investment programs aimed at developing digital infrastructure.
