President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev arrived in Turkmenistan on Friday for a working visit at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, according to the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani leader's plane landed at Turkmenbashi International Airport, where he was welcomed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Trade Nokerguly Atagulyyev and other high-ranking officials.

During the visit, President Aliyev is scheduled to take part in a trilateral summit in the “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” format, which will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

On August 22, 2025, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is also expected to arrive in Turkmenistan to participate in the summit.
