Efforts to be made to finalize the intergovernmental agreement on the Turkmen-Russian University

Turkmenistan and Russia have agreed on the need to complete work on the intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of the Turkmen-Russian University in Ashgabat. This was announced by Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“We specifically emphasized the need to fully finalize the intergovernmental documents that will allow the creation of the Turkmen-Russian University in Ashgabat,” R. Meredov told reporters.

According to the head of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy agency, it is also important to prepare the necessary documents for the construction of a new building of the State Russian Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin and for an additional building of the joint Turkmen-Russian school named after A.S. Pushkin.

“It should be noted that the parties agreed to continue cooperation in the fields of science, education, and culture,” the diplomat stressed.

The meeting between Rashid Meredov and Sergey Lavrov took place on August 28 in Moscow. During the talks, the parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as exchanged views on key issues of the international and regional agenda.
