From January 31 to February 2, 2025, a delegation from Turkmenistan, led by the Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, A. Serdarov, paid a working visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

During the visit, which took place at the invitation of the leadership of the ruling party of this country - the "Prosperity Party", the Turkmen delegation took part in the Second Congress of the party, held in Addis Ababa.

The Chairman of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, who delivered a congratulatory speech at the event, familiarized the participants with the ongoing political work of the party. Also, the head of the delegation of Turkmenistan called on the Ethiopian side to consider the possibility of establishing and, in the future, developing ties between the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan and the "Prosperity Party" of Ethiopia.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting of the delegation of Turkmenistan with the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Misganu Arga Moach, also took place. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the development of partnership relations between Turkmenistan and Ethiopia and giving a new impetus to bilateral cooperation. Continuing the meeting, the State Minister was presented with an official invitation on behalf of the leadership of Turkmenistan to the upcoming Forum of the International Year of Peace and Trust.

During the visit, the Turkmen delegation was received by the President of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie. At the meeting, words of greeting and best wishes were conveyed on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the President of Ethiopia.  

In turn, the President of Ethiopia expressed deep gratitude for the warm greetings and wishes addressed to him, and asked to convey reciprocal friendly greetings to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
