Turkmenistan and the European Union discussed the current state of cooperation in the energy sector and prospects for its further development.
The issue was reviewed during a meeting between Turkmenistan’s ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy, Ms. Cristina Lobillo Borrero, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium said Sunday.
According to the statement, the talks also addressed energy security, the development of sustainable infrastructure and the implementation of the climate agenda.
Both sides confirmed interest in maintaining regular contacts, including high-level meetings, and underscored the importance of continuing an open, forward-looking dialogue that takes mutual priorities into account.
Earlier, Turkmenistan said it was ready to expand cooperation with the European Union in transport and energy, environmental protection and the promotion of a green economy.
