A literary and musical evening celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi took place on October 17, 2024, at the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport named after Admiral General F.M. Apraksin in Astrakhan.
The event was organized jointly with the Turkmen school named after Magtymguly Fragi in the village of Funtovo, Astrakhan region, with the support of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation.Participants included diplomats from the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Astrakhan region, administration officials and students of the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport, as well as the director, teachers, and students of the Magtymguly Fragi school.
In her welcoming speech, Olga Kartashova, director of the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport named after Admiral General F.M. Apraksin, emphasized the importance of preserving and developing scientific and educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region.
The speakers highlighted the significance of opening a general education school named after Magtymguly Fragi in Astrakhan and underlined the profound meaning of the poet's works, reflecting the centuries-old wisdom and beauty of the Turkmen language.
As part of the concert, students from Turkmenistan studying at the Caspian Institute, along with students from the Magtymguly school, presented musical and dance performances. The guests were treated to recitations of the poet's famous works. The literary and musical evening concluded with a performance of the national dance "Kushtdepdi" by the "Dostluk" dance ensemble.
