On December 12, 2024, a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Moscow. Nazarguły Shagulyýew, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Belarus and Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS, participated in the meeting.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed, including the Plan of Priority Actions for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS member states for 2025-2026.
As reported by the press service of "Turkmenistan: Altyn Asyr", it is planned to conduct multilateral cooperation in the fields of education, science, culture, information and mass communications, book publishing, publishing, sports and healthy lifestyle, tourism, work with youth and designed for development.
The document was prepared by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Secretariat of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the Council for Cooperation in Education, the Council for Cooperation in Fundamental Science, the Interstate Council on Periodicals, Book Publishing, Book Distribution and Publishing, and the Humanitarian Cooperation Council. It is based on the recommendations of the State Cooperation Fund. The plan's 10 sections include over 200 events.
