On December 13, 2024, a meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025 was held in a hybrid format at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This was reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The meeting was attended by heads and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the country, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of UN structural units.
Participants noted that the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework is one of the basic documents that defines the development of Turkmenistan's partnership with the UN and its agencies on a systematic basis, and also relies on medium-term and long-term programs and plans for joint activities.
During the meeting, the UN recommendations regarding the final assessment of the implementation of the Framework Program for the period 2021-2025 were considered, the work done by each of the five Groups based on the results of the implementation of the mentioned document; as well as work on the development of the next cycle of the Framework Program for 2026-2030.
Summarizing the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will continue to coordinate the development of the document at the interagency level, contributing to the implementation of the SDGs.
