On September 9, 2022, representatives of “Turkmendenizderyayollary” and the Turkmenbashi International Seaport took part in a meeting to obtain an ECOPORTS certificate for the Turkmenbashi International Seaport.

The meeting was held within the framework of cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

During the meeting, the Chairman of the ECO Sustainable Logistics Chain Foundation (ECO SLC) made a presentation.

During the speech, a general idea of the port was given, its role in the economy, its impact on society and the environment were discussed. It was also noted that the interests of the parties interested in port management (international organizations, States, shippers, port managers) coincide, and it was emphasized that this is clean port management and reduction of environmental impact.

It was reported that ECO SLC helps ports to achieve these goals, and as a result of the work carried out, it awards the ECOPORTS certificate.

He also explained the procedure for obtaining an ECOPORTS certificate and the upcoming tasks that the port should perform.
