Turkmenistan to join the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) electronic authorization system

Turkmenistan is preparing to become a member of the electronic permit system of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), which will contribute to deepening of regional integration between Turkic states. This was announced by the Secretary General of the OTG at the 10th meeting of the heads of customs services of the member countries of the organization, https://tca.gov.tm/ reports.

According to the Secretary General, two important associations were established last year: the Union of Associations of International Road Carriers in the Turkic region “YURTA” and the Alliance of Logistics Centers and Cargo Carriers of Turkic States. These steps are aimed at simplifying trade processes between the participating countries.

Omuraliev emphasized the importance of addressing pressing issues, including rising transportation costs and complexity of customs procedures, to ensure the economic sustainability of the region. In line with the strategic document “Turkic World Vision 2040”, the organization is working to simplify customs and trade processes along the Middle Corridor.

One of the significant achievements was the successful implementation of an electronic TIR system between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in cooperation with UNICEF in 2022. The TNA strives to make its region a leader in the implementation of e-TIR system.
