Еhe 3rd Caspian Economic Forum began January 17, 2025, its work in Tehran with the participation of the Caspian littoral states. The forum is attended by the heads of transport and trade organizations, entrepreneurs and representatives of companies from Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, reports The Caspian Post.
The purpose of the forum is to strengthen economic, trade, scientific and technological cooperation between the Caspian states. The main topics include energy, finance, tourism, healthcare, investment in free trade zones and logistics.
It is reported that representatives of the five Caspian states will sign a final declaration, which will outline measures to strengthen cooperation and implement agreements through periodic meetings of ministers.
The Agreement on Trade and Economic Cooperation in the Caspian Sea was signed in August 2018 in Kazakhstan. According to Article 5 of the agreement, the Caspian Economic Forum will be held periodically in each of the coastal countries. The first Caspian Economic Forum and Exhibition was held in August 2019 in Avaza. The second forum was held in Moscow in October 2022.
