18 th International Capacity-Building Seminar on Trade and Transport Facilitation

Today, the 18th International Seminar on Facilitation of Transactions to Expand Opportunities in Trade, Transport and Information Exchange, organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe and the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), opened at the “Deniz” Hotel in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. The seminar was attended by representatives of the “Turkmendenizderyollary”, “Turkmendemiryollary”, “Turkmenavtoulaglary”, “Turkmenaragatnashyk”, “Turkmenhovayollary” agencies, the State Customs Service, as well as relevant departments of the SPECA member states. On the first day of the seminar, reports were heard on topics related to the exchange of information and documents on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor. In particular, it was noted that currently an exchange of information on cargo transportation between Aktau and Baku has been established, to which it would be advisable for Turkmenistan to join in the future. During the presentations, it was emphasized that the exchange of information should comply with UN/CEFACT standards. The training seminar will last two days, after which the guests will get acquainted with the capabilities of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port on site.
