Georgian Ambassador in Turkmenistan Konstantin Sabiashvili visited the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port to get acquainted with the infrastructure and capabilities of the ultra-modern sea harbor on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

During the visit, the Ambassador met with the Heads of the Agency “Turkmendenizderyayollary", during which the features of the work of the seaport were discussed.

The parties stressed the importance of signing in August this year the Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmendenizderyayollary Agency and the Georgian Maritime Transport Agency to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Issues of developing the international transit corridor Caspian Sea - Black Sea were discussed, including the organization of a meeting on this issue of representatives of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania in the near future.

The possibility of advanced training of specialists of the Agency “Turkmendenizderyayollary”   in the universities of Georgia was considered. The Georgian side supported cooperation in this direction and agreed to take measures in accordance with the request from Turkmenistan.
