Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow inspected the construction progress of the airport in Jebel

On April 1, 2025, as part of a working visit to Balkan Velayat, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, visited the construction site of a new international airport in the Jebel settlement.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inspected the progress of the runway construction, examined the materials used, assessed their strength and durability, and noted their compliance with international standards.

The National Leader of the Turkmen People paid special attention to the airport's infrastructure, the placement and equipping of auxiliary facilities, and emphasized that the new airport would provide comfortable conditions for citizens traveling for rest and treatment at the Mollagara sanatorium.

During the visit, he reviewed the models of future airport facilities. Dowran Saburov, Chairman of the Turkmenistan Airlines agency, presented a report on the progress of construction and building projects, including taxiways, aircraft parking areas, passenger terminals, control towers, inspection points, emergency and rescue services, fire depots, technical facilities, water reservoirs, lighting and communication systems, radio technical stations, cargo areas, and terminals.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the importance of strict control over construction work and highlighted the need for high quality and timely completion of all facilities. He then completed his working trip to the Balkan Velayat and returned to Ashgabat.

The international airport, with a capacity of up to 100 passengers per hour, will begin operations this year. Its infrastructure will include a transformer substation, a special water reservoir, and facilities for fire services. Workers are also building a 35-meter tower for air traffic control services and other facilities for technical departments. The airport will accommodate virtually all types of aircraft.
