President of Turkmenistan Leads Mass Cycling Race for World Health Day

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov personally led a mass cycling race in Ashgabat dedicated to World Health Day. The event commenced in the southern part of the capital, at the foot of the Kopetdag mountains where the Path of Health originates, and concluded in the city center at the Ruhyyet Palace, according to TDH.

The large-scale sports and health event saw the participation of government members, heads of the Mejlis (Assembly), representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as athletes, students, and schoolchildren.

During the cycling race, the head of state issued several instructions to the Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers. Specifically, Vice-Premier Tangryguly Atahallyev was tasked with ensuring control over the implementation of the National Forestry Program, while Vice-Premier Baymyrat Annamammedov was instructed to maintain special oversight of the capital's landscaping and greening efforts.

The cycling route proceeded along the main avenues of white-marble Ashgabat – Archabil and Bitarap Turkmenistan. Creative teams performed along the route, creating a festive atmosphere.

Upon completion of the event, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the necessity of further involving the population, particularly the youth, in regular sports activities and strengthening the principles of a healthy lifestyle within society.

Similar cycling races took place in the city of Arkadag and in all provinces of Turkmenistan. Furthermore, various thematic events, including conferences, exhibitions, educational campaigns, and sports competitions, were organized nationwide from April 1st to 7th.
