During a visit to the city of Samarkand (Uzbekistan), the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, together with the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the memorial complex "Hazret Hyzr" and paid tribute to the memory of the first President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

The guests recited prayers and laid flowers at the grave of Islam Karimov, as reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH).

The Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan also viewed exhibitions of folk crafts and decorative and applied arts, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people. A cultural program, including performances by dance groups, was also presented.
