From 4 to 6 June 2025, the 71st meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe was held in Baku. The delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Federal Republic of Germany, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Tourism B.Rejepov took part in the event. The meeting was attended by representatives of 38 countries – members of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe. During the meeting, key issues of tourism industry development in the region were discussed, including current challenges, on which the member countries agreed on further joint cooperation.
It was noted that Turkmenistan, being an active participant in initiatives within the framework of UN Tourism, attaches great importance to the development of the tourism industry both at the national and regional levels. In this context, Turkmenistan pays special attention to strengthening international cooperation in the field of tourism, introducing modern approaches to the development of tourism infrastructure, as well as promoting the rich cultural and natural heritage of Turkmenistan on the world stage.
