In February of this year, a meeting was held between representatives of the «Turkmendenizderyayollary» agency and representatives of the company «Anipra Impex LTD» of the Republic of India via videoconference.
During the meeting, the parties had a discussion about the capabilities of infrastructure, terminals and transit opportunities of the International Seaport of Turkmenbashi. Also, they discussed the issues of establishing cooperation in improving the capabilities of the seaport. The representative of the company spoke about the cargo projects currently being implemented in different parts of the world and the region, and also expressed a desire to implement transit cargo projects in the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. Mainly, the representative of the Indian company presented information about the cargo that could be transported through the Caspian Sea in the direction of the international transport corridor "North-South" to India, from Western countries to Uzbekistan. The company mainly imports to India such goods as: wood and lumber, various non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper), wheat and mineral fertilizers from the Russian Federation, as well as food products (wheat flour, dried fruits) and mineral fertilizers from the Republic of Uzbekistan, and it is planned to transport cargo through the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port in the future. In addition, noting the possibility of providing consulting services on cargo projects for the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port, in case of signing a relevant agreement between the parties, the additional transit cargo could be carried in the port in the future.
At the end of the meeting, the parties highlighted that efforts will be made to further develop international cooperation in the field of transport and logistics between Turkmenistan and the Republic of India.
