The opening ceremony of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries took place in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone. The event was attended by heads of state, government officials, representatives of international organizations, and UN leadership.

Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan and National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, warmly welcomed the participants and delivered a speech at the opening. UN Secretary-General António Guterres and President of the 79th UN General Assembly Session, Filimon Yang, also addressed the audience.

The forum emphasized the significance of holding the event during the International Year of Peace and Trust, marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the UN.

High-level thematic roundtables, forums, and meetings are being held within the framework of the conference.
