The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Friday in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The Azerbaijani leader arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit to participate in the trilateral summit in the “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” format, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.

The talks were held in both one-on-one and expanded formats. It was noted that Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations are becoming more systematic and are strengthening at the level of sustainable partnership.

The two sides emphasized their readiness to further develop interstate dialogue based on traditions of good neighborliness and mutual benefit.

On August 22, 2025, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit at the invitation of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
