Turkmenistan and Iran Discuss Expansion of Regional Business Cooperation

A meeting was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with a delegation from Iran’s North Khorasan Province led by Governor Bahman Nouri on November 6, 2025. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

The Iranian delegation expressed appreciation for the working visit of National Leader and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2024, noting the high level of mutually beneficial cooperation fostered under the leadership of the National Leader and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Participants exchanged views on strengthening cooperation between Turkmenistan’s Ahal Province and North Khorasan Province in tourism, healthcare, culture, and other humanitarian areas. They also discussed issues related to trade, exports, and imports.

The sides highlighted that Turkmenistan is currently implementing large-scale construction projects, and the North Khorasan delegation expressed readiness to cooperate in the construction and industrial sectors.

The Turkmen side noted that the upcoming specialized exhibition of export opportunities of Iran’s Golestan Province, to be held on November 20–22, 2025, in the city of Balkanabat, Balkan Province, will further demonstrate the effectiveness of cooperation between the two neighboring countries. The delegation expressed hope for the continued strengthening of Turkmen-Iranian friendship.

At the conclusion of the meeting, business representatives expressed confidence that the discussions would play an important role in developing mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and expanding economic opportunities across various sectors.
