On 16^th of June, 2023, was held the third meeting of the Turkmen-Latvian working group on transport. As the result of the meeting, on 12^th June, 2023, the Communique on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics was signed between Central Asia and the Republic of  Latvia.

During the negotiations, the important role of transport and logistics in ensuring international trade and communication between Europe and Asia was emphasized as a basis for promoting sustainable trade, economic growth and prosperity. Also, the parties agreed to take into account various current and emerging issues to maintain and develop intermodal and multimodal cross-border and transit transport services between Central Asia and the European Union, as well as to strengthen and expand supply chain opportunities for Central Asian countries to the EU through the multimodal corridor by Baltic Sea.

Within the framework of the negotiations, the role of the bilateral working group on transport was admitted as an important bilateral tool of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics.
