Ship of the national fleet was repaired at the “Balkan” shipbuilding and repairing yard

In the near future, it is planned to put into operation the tanker "Atamyrat Nyýazow". It is an oil and oil products carrier vessel with the capacity of a 4260 gross tonnage (GT), and was built in 2001. The repair works of this vessel was almost completely carried out by local specialists. The launching into the sea of this tanker will contribute to the growth of exports of oil products of our country.

From the beginning of 2019 to the present day, more than 80 ships of various types, including ships of the National Merchant Fleet of Turkmenistan and ships of foreign companies, have been successfully carried out at the “Balkan” shipbuilding and repairing yard.

Before the opening of a new modern "Balkan" shipbuilding and repairing yard, repairing works of ships of the national fleet was carried out at the shipyards of the Caspian countries. Currently, the “Balkan” shipyard provides shipbuilding and repairing works, which saves a significant amount of time. The process of repairing ships in foreign shipyards can be costly and time-consuming, and the use of a local shipyard reduces delivery time and speeds up the assembly process. Due to its efficiency, the “Balkan” shipyard ensures faster completion of projects, which contributes to increased competitiveness in the market of the shipbuilding industry. This attracts customers and promotes further development. Also, “Balkan” shipyard allows to reduce the cost of building ships, as it has an affordable technical potential and labor force. This contributes to a more efficient use of the budget and makes construction prices more attractive to customers. In addition, the shipyard does not forget to pay attention to training and developing professional skills of local specialists.

The production characteristics of the shipbuilding and repairing yard "Balkan” represents the potential to ensure efficient construction and repair of ships using modern technologies that meet international standards. The shipyard has the capacity to process 10,000 tons of steel annually, which allows building 4 to 6 ships per year. In addition, the shipyard is capable of repairing up to 20-30 ships annually, while processing 2,000 tons of steel.

The process of shipbuilding includes all stages from the acceptance of materials, pre-treatment and assembly, and ending with the launch of the vessel on the water. The shipyard has all the necessary infrastructure that allows it to successfully implement the most complex and large-scale projects in the field of shipbuilding and ship repair. The total area of the shipyard is 166,000 square meters, which provides enough space for the production and repair of ships of various types and sizes.

It is also worth noting that, at this time, it is planned to establish work on the construction of ships of various types as soon as possible, in order to develop the national marine merchant fleet at the shipbuilding and ship repair plant "Balkan".
