Delegation of Turkmenistan Participated in the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Events

On May 21–22, 2026, the delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis, D. Gulmanova, paid a visit to Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation, to attend the meeting of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the 60th plenary session of the organization.

During the meetings held at the Tauride Palace, cooperation in the legislative sphere and the results of the organization's activities in 2025 were discussed. In her address, the Chairperson of the Mejlis, D. Gulmanova, emphasized that permanently neutral Turkmenistan attaches great importance to parliamentary diplomacy, and invited the heads of delegations to participate in large-scale events scheduled to be held in our country this autumn. Within the framework of the visit, bilateral meetings were held with the heads of parliaments of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and the Secretary General of the CIS IPA Council. During the talks, the parties agreed to intensify the work of parliamentary friendship groups. The participants of the meetings highly praised the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, in developing international interparliamentary relations and women's parliamentarism.
