Ambassador of Turkmenistan Discusses Direct Flights with JATA Head

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, held a meeting on Monday with the newly appointed Chairman of the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), Yuji Hara, during which the parties discussed the promotion of direct flights between the two countries. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan reported this on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan congratulated Yuji Hara on his election as Chairman of JATA. The parties also discussed further steps to develop cooperation between Turkmenistan and the association.

According to the report, Turkmenistan’s engagement with JATA began in 2013 when the country participated in the JATA Travel Showcase international tourism exhibition. Other notable events highlighted included the "Tourism Opportunities of Turkmenistan" conference held in Tokyo in 2014, as well as the international conference "Turkmenistan – a Land of Friendship, Brotherhood, and Hospitality," held in 2025 within the framework of World Expo 2025 Osaka.

At the meeting, the parties paid special attention to promoting the establishment of direct flights between Turkmenistan and Japan, as well as developing cooperation between government agencies and travel companies of the two countries.
