On January 31, 2024, representatives of the «RZD Logistics» company made a business visit to get acquainted with the capabilities and capacities of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport. The guests got acquainted in detail with the capabilities, services and technical capabilities of the general, bulk, container and passenger-ferry terminals of the seaport.

During the visit, a business meeting was held between representatives of the «RZD Logistics»  company with representatives of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, «Demiryollary» JSC and PJSC «Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan». During the meeting, the possibilities of logistics in the transport sector of Turkmenistan and the advantages created by our country for foreign forwarders were discussed.

The guests noted that it is possible to carry out regular transportation of grain crops between the ports of Makhachkala, Astrakhan-Turkmenbashi International Sea Port in the direction of Afghanistan and Iran, as well as the opportunity to carry out regular container transportation between the ports of Turkmenbashi-Astrakhan. They noted that they would send their recommendations through official channels based on the results of the analysis. They noted that they are interested in delivering goods to the international port of Turkmenbashi by sea from March 2024, if this is considered favorable based on the results of the analysis.

During the visit to Balkan velayat, guests will also visit the “Bereket” and “Ak Yayla” railway stations.
