Russian grain exports from the beginning of the 2023-2024 season by February 1 increased by 23% compared to the same date of the previous season and reached 38.5 million tons. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Union of Grain Exporters.
According to preliminary results in January, Russian wheat exports since the beginning of the season amounted to 29.5 million tons (+13% compared to last season).
The top 5 grain importers from Russia included: Turkey - 4.98 million tons (-19.4% compared to last season), Iran - 4.12 million tons (+5%), Egypt - 3.58 million tons (- 21.2%), Bangladesh - 2.4 million tons (+163.4%), Saudi Arabia - 2.2 million tons (+6.4%).
As PortNews reported, according to the statement of the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, Russia in the current agricultural season of 2023-2024 will be ready to export up to 65 million tons of grain with a harvest of 140 million tons, including about 93 million tons of wheat.
The agricultural year begins on July 1, the first half lasts until the end of the calendar year (December 31), and the second until June 30 of the following calendar year.
