Iran will begin construction of the Incheburun-Turkmenistan highway

Deputy Coordinator for Economic Affairs of the Governor of Golestan Province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayed Mohammad Dehnavi, said that in the next two months the Iranian side will begin construction of a highway from the city of Incheburun to the Balkan region of Turkmenistan, as IRNA reports.

“One of the main reasons for the implementation of this plan is the increasing growth of exports from Iran to Turkmenistan, and then to other Asian countries,” the official noted during a press conference following the visit of the Iranian head of state to Golestan province.

He emphasized that the province is currently actively increasing its export potential: the volume of products sold on foreign markets has reached $265 million, and in the future they want to raise this figure to a record $300 million.

Among other things, imports of products to Golestan also increased - to 187%. Among the imported goods are products from Turkmenistan, which are in demand on the Iranian market. In general, in recent years, Ashgabat and Tehran have been deepening trade and economic cooperation.
