On febuary 14-15, 2024, specialists from the «Turkmendenizderyayollary» agency made a working visit to the port of Valencia in the Kingdom of Spain within the framework of the project “Application of the principles of “green” ports and sustainability in the Caspian Sea region” of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE)
During the visit, specialists got acquainted with the activities of the port of Valencia to reduce CO2 emissions and transition to bioenergy (green energy) in accordance with modern world standards. Also in this regard, they were familiarized with the analyzes carried out in the country’s seaports and the pilot projects currently being implemented.
One such pilot project was data on hydrogen-powered tractor-trailers and reachstackers. Because these methods run on compressed hydrogen fuel, no emissions are released into the atmosphere.
In addition, an exchange of experience took place on issues related to the management of the port of Valencia.
As it is known, within the framework of a project created between the OSCE Organization and Turkmenistan, in the Caspian and Black Sea regions, specialists of the Agency visited a number of seaports in European countries and became familiar with best practices in the field of digitalization of port operations and the application of the principles of sustainable development. One of the main goals of the project is to consolidate efforts to help transform the Caspian Sea into a logistics hub by facilitating trade and shipping.
The delegation's visit will end on February 15.
