During a recent round table on the role of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport in transit transportation, a representative of «Demirýollary» OJSC (Railways) emphasized the importance of the port as a key transit hub for Central Asian exports.
The Port of Turkmenbashi provides ample opportunities for the development of transit, import and export transportation in the railway sector, as well as for the loading and unloading of railway wagons from arriving ships. At the presentation, various benefits and discounts provided for transit routes through the port of Turkmenbashi for 2024 were announced.
The «Turkmendemiryollary» Agency has introduced the following benefits for transit destinations through the port of Turkmenbashi:
Discount on raw sugar and oilcake: A 40% discount is provided on raw sugar materials and oilcake, that are passing through the port of Turkmenbashi to the Farap/Takhiatash border point on the Turkmen-Uzbek border.
Discount on wagons: A discount of 30% is provided on private and rented wagons, as well as 20% on inventory wagons transporting other types of products (except for aluminum, alumina and oil products transported in barrels) through the port of Turkmenbashi to the Farap border point/ Takhiatash.
Discount on transit routes: A 40% discount is provided on the transit routes Turkmenbashi Port 1 - Imamnazar in both directions and Turkmenbashi Port 1 - Patrol 161 in both directions.
Special discount: 50% discount is provided on all routes (Turkmenbashi Port 1 - Imamnazar in both directions and Turkmenbashi Port 1 - Patrol 161 in both directions) when performing loading and unloading operations at the Turkmenbashi port (regardless of the ownership of the wagons).
