India develops IndiaAI initiative

The Cabinet of Ministers of India has approved the government initiative IndiaAI, the goal of which is to make artificial intelligence work for the country.

The project involves the formation of a comprehensive ecosystem to accelerate innovation in the field of artificial intelligence through the implementation of strategic programs and close partnerships in the public and private sectors. About $1.24 billion will be allocated for its implementation.

Thus, India intends to create a supercomputer with a graphics processor of at least 10 thousand GPUs. That is, it could be several supercomputers or a large number of different systems, with a total of 10 thousand or more GPUs.

As part of the initiative, an IndiaAI innovation center will also be created and a program for developing IndiaAI applications will be launched. The state will finance startups in this area and strengthen the educational sector in the field of AI.
