New Medical Centers to Open in Turkmenistan

From October 9–12, Turkmenistan will inaugurate a number of medical centers, enterprises, and administrative buildings of sanitary-epidemiological services, according to reports from the country's official media.

During a government meeting on Friday, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Bayramgul Orazdurdyeva, announced the ceremonial openings in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with Health and Medical Industry Workers Day. These include the International Scientific and Clinical Center of Physiology and the International Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ashgabat, a glycyrrhizic acid production plant in Turkmenabat, and administrative buildings for sanitary-epidemiological services in Mary province and the city of Mary.

Orazdurdyeva also highlighted upcoming events, such as the International Exhibition and Conference "Healthcare, Education, and Sports in the Era of Revival of a Powerful New State."

Additionally, state awards will be presented to healthcare workers at the State Medical University of Turkmenistan.

She further introduced national program projects for the development of physiology, rehabilitation, and immunoprophylaxis for 2024–2028, alongside plans for the construction of oncology hospitals in various provinces.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed that special attention be given to enhancing education and developing sports.

The government meeting also reviewed the economic performance over the past nine months and outlined future goals.
