Uzbekistan Increased Fees for Trucks Entering from Turkmenistan

According to the law on the state budget of Uzbekistan for 2025, the government has revised the rates for the entry of foreign freight vehicles into the territory of the republic. This was reported by the official website of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

For trucks registered in Turkmenistan, new tariffs have been set depending on the carrying capacity:

up to 10 tons - $130 (instead of the previous $50)

from 10 to 20 tons - $180 (instead of $100)

over 20 tons - $250 (instead of $150)

For vehicles from other countries, tariffs have remained at the previous level:

Afghanistan - $50

Tajikistan - $100-200 (depending on tonnage)

Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan - $300

other countries - $400

According to the source, in October 2024, the transport departments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan reached an agreement on charging for transport services on a parity and transparent basis. According to available information, from 2025, fees for national carriers of both countries will be equalized.

The two countries also plan to introduce an electronic permit exchange system (E-Permit). Similar systems are already operating in the field of freight transport between Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
