From September 12 to 16, 2022, the delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates.

The Turkmen delegation included representatives and management of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, the agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary", the airline "Turkmenistan", the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM) and the State Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE and the CEO of Abu Dhabi Sports Group, issues of strengthening cooperation in the transport and logistics sector were discussed.

The introduction of the UAE's best practices in port management and digitalization was named as one of the main areas of cooperation.

During the visit, the Turkmen delegation also got acquainted with the work of one of the Abu Dhabi ports, which is part of the Abu Dhabi Ports group.

Also, during the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Abu Dhabi Ports group.

The document is intended to promote the implementation of new joint projects aimed at the development of transport infrastructure and services, the introduction of new working methods, improving the efficiency of ports through the introduction of advanced digital technologies.
