Representatives of the agency "Turkmendenizderyayollary" visited the Astrakhan region on January 16-17, 2023y. to negotiate the issue of organizing feeder transportation between the port of Turkmenbashi and Russian ports on the Caspian Sea.

The Turkmen side is interested in cooperation and ready to involve shipping companies in the project to increase cargo traffic between the Astrakhan-Turkmenbashi route, as well as provide preferential services in the Turkmenbashi seaport.

Also, during the visit, the representatives held negotiations to create a new multimodal transport corridor with the participation of 4 countries - Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The parties considered organizational issues related to the establishment of regular navigation in the Caspian Sea.

The "dry" part of the new transport corridor will start in Kyrgyzystan, pass through the territories of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and then reach Russia through the International seaport of Turkmenbashi. Then the cargo will be distributed through Russian ports.
