The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the State Security Council

On May 7, 2025, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, held a regular meeting of the State Security Council. This is reported by TDH.  

The meeting's agenda included the results of the work carried out by the country's military and law enforcement agencies from January to April of the current year, issues of ensuring security and peace in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of military and law enforcement agencies, and further improving their work.

The first to speak at the meeting was the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense B. Gundogdyev. He reported on the measures taken since the beginning of the year to implement the Program for the Development of the Armed Forces of the country. The report also highlighted the ongoing work to improve the service and living conditions of the defenders of the Fatherland, enhance the professional level of commanders, and train young specialists.  

B. Gundogdyev also reported on the progress of discharging conscripted military personnel and the subsequent re-conscription.  

Commenting on the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of continuing work to further strengthen and improve the defense capability of Turkmenistan, which implements a defensive Military Doctrine. The Secretary of the State Security Council also gave a number of specific instructions to the Minister of Defense, drawing attention to the high level of organization of events dedicated to Victory Day.  

Subsequently, the heads of the country's military and law enforcement agencies reported on the results of the work carried out in their subordinate units from January to April of the current year, the implementation of previously given instructions, relevant programs, and the measures taken to improve the work of the units and introduce a digital system into them.

After hearing the reports, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions and directives to the relevant leaders on ensuring security and peace in the country, strengthening the material and technical base of military and law enforcement agencies, and further improving their work.

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, signed the Resolution "On Appointment and Dismissal of Prosecutors."  

The Head of State noted that systematic measures are being taken to strengthen the country's defense capability and further improve the living conditions of the defenders of the Fatherland and their family members, and that work in this direction will continue.

A number of other issues were considered at the State Security Council meeting, and appropriate decisions were made on them.
