On May 27, 2025, the successive meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between Turkmenistan and the United Nations for 2021–2025 was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the hybrid format. The meeting was attended by the leadership and staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of some ministries and sectoral agencies of the country, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, as well as chiefs and representatives of UN agencies.
The agenda of the current meeting included such issues as a review of the implementation of the current Framework Programme, consideration of the next cycle of the Framework Programme for 2026–2030, as well as discussion of the UNDP, UNICEF and UNFPA Country Programmes for the period of 2026–2030.
The high level of established multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UN was stated at the meeting, as well as confidence was expressed that only through joint efforts it will be possible to achieve significant results that meet long-term interests in ensuring sustainable development and advanced progress. The importance of joint systemic work based on medium and long-term plans and programs was particularly emphasized.
