Erol Özvar, Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey, was in Turkmenistan from May 21 to 23 on a three-day working visit. The trip took place at the official invitation of Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiýew, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan.
During the visit, Özvar and a delegation from the Turkish Council of Higher Education held negotiations with Orazdurdyýewa, the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan, and Gurbangeldiýew, the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan.
Özvar stated that the visit was very fruitful, noting: "Cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan in the fields of informatics, artificial intelligence, agriculture, energy, and engineering is a priority. Information and experience exchange will be ensured to strengthen the research infrastructure of universities. Starting this year, forums will be held between Turkish and Turkmen universities. There will be an exchange of experience on quality assurance and accreditation issues."
According to the official website "Atavatan Turkmenistan," Özvar also reported that bilateral negotiations on the implementation of issues agreed upon at the joint working committee meetings will begin this year.
