Turkmenistan, Yunus Emre Institute Discuss Cultural Cooperation in Brussels

Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Sapar Palvanov, held a meeting with Abdullah Demir, Coordinator of the Brussels branch of the Yunus Emre Institute. According to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium, the two sides discussed ways to expand cultural cooperation and explored opportunities for implementing joint projects in Brussels.

During the meeting, particular attention was given to promoting the legacy of Magtymguly Pyragy. The ambassador noted that Turkmenistan celebrated the 300th anniversary of the poet’s birth in 2024 and proposed an initiative aimed at popularizing the shared humanistic values reflected in the works of both Magtymguly Pyragy and Yunus Emre.

The participants also addressed issues of cultural exchange and expressed their commitment to supporting the development of dialogue between peoples.

In view of Turkmenistan’s designation of 2025 as the Year of Peace and Trust, the interlocutors underscored the importance of projects aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and promoting universal values through culture.
