On May 15, 2023 the training to improve the qualification of the specialists of the Agency "Sea and River Routes" of Turkmenistan in St. Petersburg, organized by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) in the framework of the signed Agreement between the Agency "Türkmendeňizderýaýollary" and RMRS on delegating authority for services of ship surveys and registration of documents in accordance with the requirements of international treaties relating to merchant shipping.

Given the prospects of mastering new knowledge, the intensive and detailed course promotes the exchange of experience and professional development for the supervision and safety of navigation.

As is known Turkmenistan closely cooperates with Russian Federation in the field of merchant shipping, design and construction of ships, training and professional development of maritime transport specialists and exchange of experience.

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS, Register) is a leading classification society of international fame. It is engaged in raising standards of safety of human life at sea, raising standards of safe navigation, raising standards of safe carriage of cargo at sea and inland waterways, and development of measures and standards aimed at prevention of environmental pollution.

In the future, the Agency plans to increase cooperation with RMRS in training and development of qualifications of maritime transport specialists.
