On the eve of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of our country, a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan was held in the capital city under the chairmanship of the National Leader of the Turkmen nation, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The agenda of the national forum, which became an event of historical significance in the life of our state and society, included priority tasks for the further progressive development of the country, the implementation of fundamental changes aimed at ensuring a prosperous and happy life for the people.

In the modern era, the Halk Maslahaty, being the highest representative body of nation's power, acting in accordance with the Constitution of Turkmenistan, embodies the inextricable connection of times and the continuity of generations, the commitment of an independent neutral Fatherland to the original democratic principles and the chosen creative path.

The construction of high-speed highways and railways, which are an important part of regional and international transport corridors, new bridges, international airports, as well as the Turkmenbashi International Seaport - the “sea gate” of Central Asia, indicates the increasing role of transport diplomacy. The steps taken in this direction contribute to strengthening the economic power of Turkmenistan, creating thousands of jobs and profitable export of domestic products.

As it was noted, thanks to the strategic foresight of Hero-Arkadag and the initiatives of the head of state in the transport sector, the international authority of our country is increasing. In this context, it was emphasized that the decision taken at a meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations at the proposal of Turkmenistan to proclaim November 26 as World Sustainable Transport Day became another evidence of the UN recognition of the globally significant initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen nation.

Industry workers fully support the active integration of the country's transport and communications system into international cooperation through the effective use of specialized infrastructure and transit opportunities.

During a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, a solemn ceremony was held to award President Serdar Berdimuhamedov the title of Hero of Turkmenistan.

In a solemn ceremony, the speaker of the national parliament of the country, D. Gulmanova, read out the Resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan «On awarding the title of Hero of Turkmenistan to the President of Turkmenistan Berdimuhamedov Serdar Gurbangulyevich».

According to the document, the head of state was awarded the title Hero of Turkmenistan for his enormous personal contribution to strengthening the foundations of the national independence of Turkmenistan, the principles of the country’s neutrality, for particularly outstanding services in the dynamic development of the state, strengthening the international authority of the Motherland with initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation, friendship and brotherhood between states and peoples, strengthening the statehood founded by our Hero Arkadag, for activities carried out to enhance the glory and dignity of the Fatherland, as well as in connection with the celebration of the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan.
