Employees of the Administration of State Supervision of Navigation in Turkmenistan under the «Turkmendenizderyayollary» agency, expanded their knowledge during trainings on the topic “Maritime International Conventions” conducted by the international certification and classification society Det Norske Veritas (DNV) from September 18 to 27, 2023 with the support of the European Maritime Security Agency. The training was held online.

DNV is one of the largest international certification and classification societies, with 13,175 ships and offshore platforms on its registry, representing 21 percent of the global market. DNV's core competence is risk assessment, consulting and management.

The trainings included a variety of topics, ranging from the history and creation of maritime conventions, ratifications and procedures, to classification rules and safety issues. Participants successfully completed the training program, receiving the appropriate certificates, and are now ready to apply the acquired knowledge in their work.

This experience will enrich the knowledge and skills of employees, strengthening the position of Turkmenistan in the maritime industry and contributing to maritime safety. Noting the importance of such training and information initiatives, Turkmenistan is actively involved in improving standards and knowledge in the field of maritime conventions.
