The authorities of the Rostov region are taking steps to ensure safety and order on the roads leading to the seaport in the Azov region. They plan to create curbside parking for trucks, especially those transporting grain. This decision is designed to reduce chaos on the roadsides and reduce the load on regional and municipal roads.
At an extended meeting, organized with the participation of the Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region and the Minister of Transport, it was decided to explore the possibility of allocating land plots for these interceptor parking lots. The goal is to concentrate heavy transport directly near the port and reduce its movement on regular roads.
In addition, the authorities are considering the creation of a unified dispatch service that will cooperate not only with port terminals, but also with shippers. This will help avoid untimely dispatch of trucks and reduce the risk of traffic congestion.
The governor of the Rostov region expressed confidence in the growth of cargo traffic through the Azov-Black Sea ports by 2030 and emphasized that the authorities continue to improve the infrastructure of the ports, including the reconstruction of container terminals. It is also reported about the modernization of the Azov maritime checkpoint, which will increase throughput and trade turnover. As a result, it is planned to ensure more efficient and safe traffic.
