Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan introduce pilot mechanism for exchange of preliminary cargo information

A joint sub-regional training on the implementation of a pilot mechanism for exchanging advance cargo information was held at the "Farap avtoyollary" customs posts of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan and "Alat" of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.

The training was organized within the framework of the Global Container Control Programme of the World Customs Organization and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.

The aim of the training was to familiarize members of the port control group with the mechanism for exchanging advance cargo information. In this regard, the course participants tested the exchange of mutually agreed sets of data on incoming and outgoing cargo. The training was conducted by international expert Svetlan Savov.

Expanding the information exchange with customs administrations of other countries is one of the key tasks facing the customs authorities of Turkmenistan.

Currently, the exchange of advance data with the Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has been established, which was signed in October 2021.
