Kazakhstan is embarking on a comprehensive modernization of border crossing points with Turkmenistan, as well as China and Uzbekistan.
The modernization includes the construction of new checkpoints. Necessary conditions will be created for comfortable border crossing and quality implementation of state controls.
As a result of the modernization, the traffic lanes will significantly expand, the capacity will increase almost eightfold, and the border crossing time will be reduced by 30 minutes.
In addition to the modernization, work is currently underway to digitize and automate the technical means of customs control, which will provide centralized control of posts in the Main Dispatching Office.
According to Yerzhan Birzhanov, the Deputy Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, these measures aim to increase trade turnover with neighboring countries.
