Kazakhstan plans to build a new dry port, 24KZ TV channel reports.
The dry port will be located in the industrial zone of the Kostanay region of the republic, not far from the border with Russia. It will provide convenient access to the railways and highways of Kazakhstan.
The logistics center is designed to process cargo and distribute it within the country and abroad. Investors will allocate 34 billion tenge ($76 million) for its construction.
The funds will be used to create infrastructure and technical support for the port. State support is also expected through the Fund for Entrepreneurship Development and Infrastructure Construction at the expense of budgetary funds.
In 2023, Kazakhstan increased the export of goods by rail to Russia. In addition, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), an Agreement is being developed on the creation of a unified transit system for the union.
