On May 13-14, Gismet Gezalov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, made a trip to the Balkan region.

As part of his visit, Gismet Gezalov met with the khyakim of the Balkan region, the khyakim of the city of Turkmenbashi, the chairman of the “Denizderyayollary” agency, the head of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and the director of the “Balkan” shipyard, and visited the port.

The current state of bilateral cooperation and future prospects were discussed at the meetings. The importance of the port of Turkmenbashi in maritime transport between the two countries and its role in the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor was noted

In addition, during the visit, Gismet Gezalov met with citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan and compatriots living in the Balkan region. At the meeting, the ambassador emphasized the importance of the Azerbaijani state caring for its citizens living abroad and listened to their proposals and ideas.
