At the 25th plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, upon the initiative of Turkmenistan, a Resolution titled "Central Asia - a Zone of Peace, Trust, and Cooperation" was unanimously adopted. The co-authors of this document include most UN member states and all countries of the region. This was reported by the official press of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, a report was also presented on the preparations for the next meeting of the Strategic Consultative Council "Turkmenistan-United Nations," established in March 2024 with the support of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
According to the report, a preliminary draft of the Plan of Activities has been developed and prepared, which will be carried out in accordance with the UN resolution "2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust," including international and regional initiatives.
Turkmenistan is using its legal status of neutrality to promote its peacekeeping agenda, ensure global and regional security, and strengthen a culture of trust and openness, which is necessary for cooperation based on the principles of mutual respect and consideration of each other's interests.
